The W Singapore: A Sexy & Sophisticated Luxury Hotel

The W brings its sophisticated and sexy style to the private resort island of Sentosa and the result is a ultra luxe experience at the doorstep of Singapore, one of Asia's finest cities.

Before we even set foot in Singapore, I had heard of the perfect sidewalks, the strict no gum policy (seriously, chewing gum is forbidden to import), the amazing food lurking at every corner and the immaculate lifestyle Singaporeans thrive by. Everything was exactly as I expected, the sidewalks were manicured, the gardens were lush and everywhere you looked were smiling faces excited to welcome you. Now take Singapore and imagine what it would be like times 10 - Welcome to Sentosa Island.

Sentosa Island is a resort island only a few kilometers away from Singapore. Entrance is restricted to those willing to pay to enter and the community itself is extremely private and exclusive. Sentosa Cove is a residential area of Sentosa and home to several world class hotels, including our favorite, the W. Pair the reputation of W  properties with a location being on a secluded, ultra luxe and exclusive island in Singapore and you have the ultimate posh experience. If you’re on a business trip in Singapore, looking for a chic staycation, or simply on holiday, the W Singapore - Sentosa Cove has it all!

The W Experience

Great customer service is a standard at top luxurious hotels and managing guest expectations and being able to recognise repeat guests is a standard at W hotels. It’s that feeling of belonging to something exclusive that keeps us all coming back. Yet at the W Singapore Sentosa Cove they took their service a step further and truly made us feel welcome.

The best part of our experience wasnt the visually stunning room we called home, or the marina views as far as you could see. It wasn’t the cool hot pink lighting surrounding the room, or the wrap around balcony with lounge furniture, or the full size Bliss skincare products in the bathroom, it was the personal details. In the living room we had delicious cupcakes waiting for us and in the bedroom a personalized note, complete with a picture of Chris and I from our travels. You could tell the team at the W took their time to get to know us and make us feel special. It’s this type of service that stands out and makes us keep coming back to W hotels, all across the world.

Staying in the Fantastic Suite

After I was able to pry the cupcakes out of Chris’s fingers we were able to walk around and get a sense of our accommodations. Our living room was incredibly spacious with a large desk and a comfortable couch for us each to work on. We had a bathroom, a bar and a large entertainment system and we hadn’t even gotten to the bedroom yet.

The bedroom was acompletely separate room with a bathroom that was as large as one of our entire apartments in Tokyo. The floor to ceiling windows looked out onto the hotel grounds and the large marina Sentosa Cove is known for. Our balcony was perfect for late nights spent staring at the sky and morning coffee just tasted better from our elevated position. At night, our room magically transformed into a sexy suite with ambient lighting coming from underneath the bed and little sweet treats laid on our nightstand.

What To Do On Sentosa Island

Beyond The W’s gorgeous pool area and stunning grounds, you'll find a host of attractions on Sentosa Island, from nearby Palawan Beach, championship golf courses, shopping and family-friendly theme parks including Universal Studios. It’s a place where you can easily be a recluse and spend your days relaxing pool side or venture out and see the amazing sights in Singapore.

Our favorite of all the attractions on Sentosa Island definitely was SEA Aquarium. Considered to be the worlds largest aquarium and maritime museum, you'll see plenty of jelly fish, sharks and the larges Manta Rays I've ever seen. Completely enclosed, the Aquarium was a welcome distraction from the hot temperatures outside and worth the visit!
