Our Best Travel Photos from 2014

After spending 320 days on the road, taking nearly 6,000 photos in 40 destinations across the globe - we've selected our best travel photos from 2014.

2014 was an incredible year for us. We made the biggest decision of our lives (aside from saying I do) and set out on an incredible adventure that would change our lives for ever. During our travels, we started using our camera as a way of documenting our life on the road.  Out of the thousands of photos we've taken this past year, we have somehow narrowed down our photos to this selection of our absolute favorite images.

P.S. If you like our photography, and want to see new pictures daily, be sure to follow us on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, or all four!

Hong Kong at Dusk

Riding the Star Ferry from the main island to Kowloon Bay was an experience in itself, but what was on the other side left us truly breathless. Aside from a massive shopping center, the views from across the bay are magical. The panoramic views of the Hong Kong island coastline are so impressive, especially at dusk.

The Beach In Hoi An, Vietnam

We actually found our "postcard shot". You know that perfect beach post card, that everyone has as their screensaver, or saved in their inspiration folders. Well it really does exist and it's on beaches of Hoi An, in Vietnam.

Chris Feeling Free in Seminyak, Bali

There is nothing that feels better than having complete privacy in an exotic location. Chris just couldn't resist the temptation of doing nonstop cannonballs while completely naked in our private villa in Bali, Indonesia

The Bamboo Forest in Kyoto, Japan

Even before we went to Kyoto, Japan I had seen a similar picture of these amazing bamboo groves on Pinterest. It looked like a place out of a fairytale and completely photoshopped. Seeing the Bamboo Forest in real life left us in awe. It really does exist, and it's spectacular!

Watching the Waves Crash at Devils Tear

Pictures and words can not explain the magnitude of the waves we saw here in Nusa Lembongan, a tiny island 1 hour away from Bali, Indonesia. In what felt like perfect synchronization, the waves would crash and then reset, with each wave getting bigger and bigger.

The Louvre after Midnight

Wandering around Paris after midnight is our favorite time to explore the city of lights. Once the tourists have gone to bed, and the crowds have disappeared you can really appreciate the amazing architecture of the world famous Louvre.

The Hills of Cinque Terre, Italy

Visiting the 5 small villages of Cinque Terre, Italy should be on everyone’s bucket list. It’s views like this, just before the sun set over Manarola, that made us love the Italian coastline so much!

The Neon Streets of Tokyo, Japan

As soon as the sun went down, we discovered a whole different side of Tokyo. It seemed like every street lit up with neon sign, after neon sign and no matter where you look, you see something completely bizarre and unexpected.

The View of Halong Bay, Vietnam

We've been so amazed by all of the natural beauty of Vietnam, but especially so in Halong Bay. All you see are hundreds of large limestone islands jutting out from the deep turquoise waters. This was our view from atop the entrance to the Sung Sot Cave.

Swinging at Sunset

Danika just couldn't resist the urge to run out to this swing in the water, on the coast of Gili Trawangan. Should you ever come across the opportunity to play on a swing in the ocean during a sunset; we suggest you take it.

Catching the Sunrise in Nusa Dua, Bali

At sunrise everything is so peaceful. We made sure to wake up at 5AM to watch the sunrise and ended up sitting on the beach in Nusa Dua with the local fishermen, as they waited for the tide to come in, so they too could start their day.

The Canals of Amsterdam

We spent a month in Amsterdam and loved every moment of our stay. While it's definitely best known for its stunning canals, it was the beautiful architecture, cafes, and easy going people in this city that stole our hearts. Of all the cities in Europe, Amsterdam is definitely in our top 5.

Riding the Train Through Switzerland

Train rides in Switzerland are expensive, and now we know why. You're paying for amazing views! The train ride from Lucerne to Interlaken is three hours of some of the most amazing scenery in Switzerland. This was the view from our the window in the train.

Jatiluwih Rice Terraces in Bali

We decided to spend a day visiting the countryside of Ubud. Our guide told us he was taking us to see some "really big" rice terraces, but once we arrived at Jatiluwih, we weren't expecting this! Everywhere you looked were huge expansive fields. It was breathtaking.

Hong Kong at Night

We were told that Victoria’s Peak in Hong Kong was the the perfect place to get a birds eye view of this bustling city, and it didn’t disappoint. We ended up spending three hours here, just watching the cityscape change from daytime to evening.
