Vietnam

Food is what brought us to Vietnam. But the natural beauty of Halong Bay, amazing beaches of Hoi An, and culture of Hanoi will be what brings us back...

Vietnam is incredibly hard to sum up in a few sentences…there is just so much to see, to do and to eat! It’s a cornucopia of adventure and you really never know what you’re going to get. One day you could be laying on the most beautiful beach in the world and the next attempting to cross a street with 100 mopeds coming from every direction. Vietnam is a land of incredible culture, the best food and pretty easy to travel around, even with a budget.

The currency is called Dong (yes we’re giggling with you) and since the exchange rate is so good, it’s really inexpensive to travel through Vietnam. We started our trip in the north in Hanoi, where we stayed for a few weeks and spent a night visiting Halong Bay (which you absolutely have to do). We then took a plane (you can take a train, but a flight is very inexpensive and much much quicker) to Hue where we dug into the cultural side of Vietnam, visiting temples and some of the most beautiful tombs we’ve seen. A few days later we hired a private driver (cost about $30USD) to drive the couple hours over mountains and oceans to the beach town of Hoi An. After some time on one of the most beautiful beaches we’ve ever seen, we finished our Vietnam trip in the bustling city of Saigon.
